It has two trackpads and a gyroscope. When we talk about what stands out in the new Steam Deck laptop we can say that the sensors are a remarkably clear feature that innovates comfort and playability. Being a patent with pressure sensors it offers significant changes for the development of games that take advantage of this innovation.
With a tactile response, i games will have a better response in each interactive element that composes them. However, being a patent this could change in the development of the Steam Deck by incorporating new future features.
Another notable and no less important feature is the battery, when referring to a laptop it is obvious that one will wonder how long the battery will last and what will its performance be? Although we have few details on the battery, Valve promises us between 2-4 and up to 8 hours of gameplay at depending on the title to be played. Obviously, each title requires a different performance, but, giving some examples, we could play " Portal” for 4 hours without any overheating problem.
Is Steam Deck integrated with Windows 11?
Valve said that the console will come with SteamOS optimized from which we will be able to download each title from the Steam store in the most practical way. However, after the IGN talks, Valve will allow us to install Windows on the Steam Deck and we'll just have to test what Microsoft's OS will perform on the console. If we were to get optimal performance, this would mean being able to have our Xbox Game Pass on the console.
What features do the Steam Deck controls have?
A unlike Nintendo Switch they don't have removable controls, but a classic console one-off to highlight offers more promising physical durability.
At the ends we have a joystick and a trackpad at the bottom which will innovate gameplay, through the experience similar to that of a mouse with tactile functions.
